In 1995, Luang Prabang was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its unique historical architecture — a mix of features from traditional Laos and French colonial design.

However, rapid modernisation and increased tourism raise concerns about the potential effects on this traditional architecture.

During our team’s trip to Luang Prabang, we found out more about the history of their architecture and the efforts made to preserve its uniqueness.
