LUANG PRABANG, Laos: In Laos, pregnant mothers ride their motorbikes from remote villages for hours in hopes of receiving necessary medical care. Their destination is the Lao Friends Hospital for Children (LFHC), the only facility offering free paediatric care in northern Laos.
Nourish is a documentary that offers a glimpse into the first breast milk bank in Laos, run by LFHC. In a country where premature births are common and breastfeeding can be a struggle, this milk bank offers fragile newborns the nourishment they need to survive.
At the heart of this initiative are the Laotian people. Mothers donate their milk to babies in need and medical staff work beyond exhaustion, holding the weight of life in their hands. The community stands together, mother by mother, bottle by bottle, to give every child a fighting chance.
Nourish is a tribute to the compassion of healthcare workers, the strength of women, and the quiet generosity that sustains life in places where resources are scarce. It is a story of sacrifice, community, and what it truly means to care for and value humanity.
