LUANG PRABANG, Laos: Saa paper, crafted from the bark of the mulberry tree, is a vibrant thread in Luang Prabang's cultural tapestry. This documentary profiles Maniphone Manipoun, the owner of Saa Paper Handicraft, one of the pioneering Saa paper shops in Ban Xang Khong paper village.

Through her journey, the film highlights how she transformed the traditional art of Saa papermaking into a thriving business while addressing the contemporary challenges of preserving this ancient craft.

Manipoun’s story aims to celebrate the beauty of handmade art and the dedication required to maintain cultural heritage amid modern pressures.
